1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ScrollLecture ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ScrollLecture is an AI-powered study app that converts your lecture materials — including PDFs, photos, and pasted text — into swipeable study cards. The App uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to analyze your content and generate study materials.

Free Tier: You may create up to 3 lectures at no cost.

Pro Tier: A paid subscription that unlocks unlimited lecture creation and all premium features.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to ScrollLecture. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of generating study cards. Your uploaded materials are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing is complete.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use.

4. Subscriptions & Purchases

ScrollLecture offers auto-renewable subscriptions to access Pro features. By subscribing, you agree to the following terms:

• Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Pricing: Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to Pro features until then.
• Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, the unused portion of the trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

All payments are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Upload malicious, harmful, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or services
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its content

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by ScrollLecture and protected by intellectual property laws. The study cards generated by the App are derived from your uploaded content and are provided for your personal, non-commercial educational use.

7. AI-Generated Content

Study cards are generated using artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. ScrollLecture does not guarantee the correctness, completeness, or reliability of generated study materials. You should verify important information independently and not rely solely on AI-generated content for academic or professional decisions.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScrollLecture and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or academic outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the App, its users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
